I wrote this song from the perspective of a dog who’s learning to overcome fear. It urges us to create safe spaces and then let the dog learn at his own pace. This is the philosophy of Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT), so that’s why it’s called the BAT song.
Behavior Adjustment Training is a socialization technique method that increases calm, relaxed behavior for both the dog and their humans. It actually works for a lot of different species, too, like horses and goats.
Through the BAT process, we create opportunities for a dog to interact organically with the environment in emotionally and physically safe ways. The result is an adaptable team that is ready for the world.
