CAT VS. DOG – Which is the Better Pet? | ULTIMATE FIGHTING WORDS

CAT VS. DOG - Which is the Better Pet? | ULTIMATE FIGHTING WORDS

[music playing] Welcome to Ultimate
Fighting Words. Today, our challengers
will battle over what makes a better
pet, a cat or a dog. [dog barks] In this corner, we have Quincy. She's fighting for all
things furry and fella and is confident that a cat
makes a better pet than a dog. She has six cats at home. Whoa, that's a lot
of kitty litter. Hello, everyone. Oh, and my cats are
trained to use the toilet. In this corner, we have Zach. Zach believes that dogs
truly are a man's best friend and is here to prove that dogs
make a better pet than cats. Zach also eats ice
cream with his dog. And they share the same
bowl and on the same spoon. Am I the only one who
thinks this is gross? Yeah, well, we both
love ice cream. So how else are we
supposed to eat it? During this battle,
you have three rounds to use your best words and
prove to me and to the crowd who will be the Ultimate
Fighting Words champion.

Round 1 is Wild Words, where
I say the first word that pops into my head. And you each get 30
seconds to convince me who should get the point. Welcome to the jungle, Quincy. 30 seconds are on the clock. The wild word is Ability. Cats have the ability
to keep rodents like rats and other scary little
critters out of your house. They are also related to tigers. And they are fierce predators,
which makes them love to hunt. Cats that live in
people's homes kill up to 2 billion rodents a
year in the United States. And I have six cats. And they like to eat,
if you know what I mean.

[belching] My brother has a pet rat. So maybe you should
apologize to him. Mooh, never. Well, dogs have the
ability to be trained. And here's why. Dogs are pack
animals, which means they're born ready
to follow a leader, whether it be another
dog or a human. And they'll go on a hike with
you and play catch with you. They'll literally jump
through hoops for you. Have you ever seen a
cat catch a frisbee? No, because they can't
catch frisbees, that's why.

Zach is right, some people
do have rats as pets. They are not always food. And I've never seen a
cat catch a frisbee. Right now, dogs are
sounding more fun to me. So it looks like round
one is going to dogs. That means, Zach takes the point
for Wild Words and is up 1-0. Let's see if his bark is bigger
than his bite in round 2. It's the Hot Potato round,
where our contestants will go head to head, spitting
facts about dogs and cats. Whoever gets caught
holding the potato when the buzzer goes off, loses. Hot Potato starts now. In 3,000 BC, cats were
worshipped as gods. Yes, gods, an Egyptian
goddess named Bastet– the goddess of protection
and good health– was a cat.

Dogs have webbed feet,
which make them awesome, super strong swimmers. And some dogs even
work with lifeguards to help rescue drowning
swimmers in the ocean. Well, in 1963, a cat named
Astrocat went into space. Yep, the cat was an astronaut. There was actually
a cooler animal that went into space in 1957. His name was Laika. And he was a dog. And dogs have super hearing
and can hear up to four times the distance of a human.

Well, in Alaska, there
was a cat named Stubbs. And he was the mayor of a
city there for 20 years, well, honorary mayor. But he was 20 years old. The dogs have super noses. Their sense of smell can be up
to 100,000 times more sensitive than a human's. Dogs often work for the police
and search and rescue teams to help find people, sniff
out drugs, explosives and can help catch
criminals and– [buzzer] Time is up. Sorry, Zac your hands
are on the potato. That means, round
2 goes to Quincy. So after two rounds,
we're in a real dogfight. With the score tied at 1-1,
it's time to convince the crowd. [music playing] In this final round of the
game, you each get 15 seconds to say it all one last time and
convince the crowd who deserves the final point in this battle. What makes a better
pet, a cat or a dog? Quincy, it's your turn.

And I want to hear
something ameowzing. All I have to say is that,
cats keep rodents away. Cats have been to space. And they are sacred
creatures since they've been worshipped as a god. And it's easy, they're
just way cuter than dogs. [crowd cheering] [buzzer] Wooh, Quincy, my
head is spinning. Zach, can you make it spin
faster because you're up. Well, dogs are like superheroes. Their noses are so strong
that even the police rely on them for help. And they're used by lifeguards
to rescue drowning people. And they will play
frisbee with you. Dogs are truly a
man's best friend. [crowd cheering] Wow, that was an
exciting finish. Well said, both of you. I have to say, after all that,
I want a cat and a dog now.

But only one can be chosen. And it's not up to me. It's up to the crowd to
decide who said it best, Zach or Quincy. Let's hear it for cat. [music playing] Let's hear it for dogs. [crowd cheering] [bell ringing] It looks like dog, Zach, you
have won this battle of words. You are the Ultimate
Fighting Words champion. Now, I'm going to take a
quick catnap, bye-bye, now. [music playing] (SINGING) The world's
greatest champion..
