Don’t expect your dog’s thought processes to be on the same level as your own. If you do this, you are certain to be disappointed with the training results that you will receive. Dogs are smart animals, though, and with a little patience and understanding they can be well trained.
Take small steps when crate training your dog. Once your dog seems to have acclimated to the crate itself, close the gate and feeding him through it. Leave them in for short periods of time, as little as 10 seconds. Work up from there. If the dog becomes upset, then you need to take a step back and slow down the training.

Teaching your dog to not tug and pull when on his leash is an important part of his training. This is both for the dog’s safety and your own, as well.
Use positive reinforcements when training your dog. Sweet treats or gentle petting are great rewards when the dog is behaving properly. Don’t ever hit your dog or yell at them! In order to reduce your dark’s barking, have your dog get used to the things that are causing them to bark. Triggers can include strangers, loud sounds or new places. Once used to these things, your pet will know that barking is not necessary.
